1. Origin and Main Farming Regions

Pangasius (Pangasius hypophthalmus) is a freshwater fish belonging to the Pangasiidae family. In Vietnam, Pangasius originates from the Mekong Delta and major rivers in the far south. The Mekong Delta region is the primary Pangasius farming area in the country, with provinces such as Dong Thap, An Giang, and Can Tho being the main production centers.

Pangasius is not only an important economic product but also offers significant nutritional value. Pangasius meat contains:
