  • Although the amount of pepper exported in the past 6 months decreased by 6.8% compared to the same period last year, thanks to high export prices, the export turnover reached an impressive level of 634 million USD, up 30.5%. Of which, black pepper contributed 540 million USD and white pepper reached 94 million USD.
  • The El Niño phenomenon is causing prolonged drought, seriously affecting global pepper production, leading to a significant reduction in supply. In the next 3-5 years, this situation is forecasted to be difficult to improve, causing a shortage of supply and not meeting the increasing consumption demand of the world market. Thanks to that, Vietnamese pepper with abundant output and high quality has captured a large market share in the world.
